Taken directly from "Thud"
I've been wanting to draw this one for a while, and so I finally had a bit of time to relax last night and decided to give it a go. It only took me about two hours from start to finish. It was drawin traditionally, then I Photoshoped it a bit, and added the text.
Enjoy.

GENIUS. I haven't other words to describe it. I think no one would ever think of drawing a cartoon described in the book, but you did and very well!

Bang on target. The cartoonist in the books is based on the famous "Phiz" of London (their Times? I forget), the style looks right for the A-M version, the details are charming.

Heheh, I was just re-reading Thud! and I tried to imagine the cartoon myself, your drawing comes very close anyway. Almost exactly but for some reason in my mind it was mirrored with Vimes on the right side and the vampire on the left side o.O Aaanyway, great political-cartoon style, nice work =)

Its funny you say that because thats how I originally drew it. I had the drawing well under way and then reread that passage of "Thud" to make sure I hadn't missed anything. Well, I had. Willikins specifically says that the stake is in Vimes' right hand, but I had already drawn in in his left, so rather than starting over, I just finished the drawing, and wrote Vimes' nameplate backward, then flipped the image after I scanned it in.
